For several years (through 2009), proceeds from an annual golf outing went into the Foundation's general fund to help finance educational program enrichments in Indian Prairie schools. Open to the local business community, including District 204 vendors, this event included lunch, 18 holes of golf, dinner and prizes. In recent years, it was hosted by the Tamarack Golf Club in Naperville.
In 2005 and 2006, the IPEF sponsored Stars of the Valleys: A Celebration of the Performing Arts, which showcased the vocal, instrumental, dance, comedic and theatrical talents of students attending District 204's high schools. Each year, this event included about 15 student performances, which were introduced by the Foundation's guest MC - WGN Radio personality Steve Cochran, who resides in Indian Prairie.
In addition, the Foundation has sponsored many concerts and other entertaining events that have raised funds for IPEF programs. For example, there have been performances by nationally known entertainers such as the Count Basie Big Band, trumpeter Maynard Ferguson and his Big Bop Nouveau Band, the Northern Illinois Jazz Band, the Mamas and the Papas singing group, magician Andy Dallas and the comedy/improvisations of the Second City National Touring Company.
